Inspirations on our National Thanksgiving Day

The month of November in America is known for the national holiday of Thanksgiving. The very first Thanksgiving celebration was in 1789, when President George Washington proclaimed that November 26th of that year would be a national day of thanksgiving to give thanks to God for the new United State Constitution. After that year, some states upheld the tradition and others did not. The stated that chose to celebrate Thanksgiving every year but not always do it on the same day as each other. Some states chose to have it in September, others in October, or even early December. So who do we have to thank for our national holiday of Thanksgiving where the whole nation celebrates on the same day? The answer is Sarah Hale.
